1. Scope
These terms govern your use of cvbuildly.com (the "Service"), provided by Cvbuildly. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Cvbuildly is a free online tool for creating resumes and cover letters. In particular:
- Local-first: your resume data is stored in your browser, not on our servers.
- Optional Google Drive backup: you can back up your data to your own Google Drive.
- AI assistance: optional features powered by Groq suggest wording, skills and summaries.
All features are free. There are no subscriptions, paid plans or watermarks, and no payment details are required. You can support the project with a voluntary donation; a donation does not unlock features or create any entitlement.
3. No account; your data
3.1 No registration
You can use the Service without an account. Signing in with Google is only needed for the Drive backup.
3.2 Backups are your responsibility
Because we do not store your resume, we cannot restore it. If you clear your browser data, use a different browser or device, or your device is lost, data that only existed in that browser is gone. Download your resume or use the Drive backup regularly.
3.3 Security of your device and accounts
Your data is as secure as the device, browser and Google account it is stored in. Keeping them secure is your responsibility.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful purposes or to create deliberately false or misleading documents to deceive others,
- infringe the copyright or other rights of third parties,
- overload the Service with automated requests, scrape it or circumvent rate limits,
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to, or interfere with, the Service or its systems.
You are solely responsible for the content of your resume and its accuracy.
5. AI features
AI output is generated automatically and can be inaccurate or incomplete. It is a suggestion, not advice. Review every result before using it, and never present experience, qualifications or achievements you do not have. When you use an AI feature, the text required for it is sent to our AI provider Groq (see our Privacy Policy).
6. Intellectual property
The design, code, templates, texts and logos of the Service belong to us or our licensors. You may use the templates to create and share your own resumes and cover letters. Content you enter remains yours; we claim no rights to it.
7. Availability and changes
We provide the Service free of charge and may change, suspend or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time. We will try to announce significant changes in advance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not guarantee that a resume will lead to a job.
8. Liability
The Service is provided free of charge and "as is". We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law (such as product liability law) provides otherwise. In all other cases our liability is excluded to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law of your country of residence.
9. Third-party services
The Service uses Google APIs (sign-in and Drive), Groq for AI features and, depending on your consent, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Their terms apply to your use of them, for example the Google APIs Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Details are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page with its date applies. Changes do not apply retroactively.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the provider's place of business, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you have your habitual residence.
