How to use these resume examples

A good resume example is not text to copy. It is a map that shows what to include, in what order, and how much to write. Each example on this page contains a complete resume for a fictional candidate, the points hiring managers in that field look for first, and section-by-section writing tips.

To get the most out of the examples:

  1. Pick the closest example. If your job isn't listed, start with the example for your experience level (student, recent graduate or experienced professional).
  2. Study the structure, not the wording. Notice which sections come first, how each bullet starts with an action verb and how results are made concrete.
  3. Start from the example and write your own content. The button on each example page opens it in the resume builder, where you replace every field with your own experience.
  4. Tailor it to the job posting. Work the posting's keywords into your resume naturally. Our ATS resume guide shows how.

What each example includes

  • A complete sample resume: a fictional candidate's summary, experience, education, skills and more, fully filled in.
  • Job-specific tips: what employers in that field look for first, with advice for each section.
  • Sample bullet points: phrasing you can adapt to describe your own experience.
  • Common mistakes and FAQs: what to check before you apply.

The people in these examples are fictional

Every candidate, employer, school and reference on these pages was invented for illustration. Numbers and achievements only demonstrate structure; on your own resume, use only real, verifiable information. When you open an example, you can switch templates, change colors and reorder sections at any time.

We add new examples over time. If your job isn't covered yet, start with the closest one: the structure and principles carry over to most professions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I copy a resume example word for word?

Use the examples as a starting point for structure and phrasing. Recruiters quickly spot generic, untailored text, so rewrite the example around your own experience, your results and the job you're applying for.

Are the examples free? Do I need an account?

Yes, they're free and no account is needed. You can download your resume as a PDF without a watermark. Your information isn't saved on our servers; it stays in your browser.

What if there's no example for my job?

Start with the example closest to your experience level (student, recent graduate or experienced). Fill the experience section with results from your own work; the skill suggestion feature can also propose skills based on your job title.
